LAVENDER FINISHES 6TH AT THOMPSON, CT.
Jody Lavender had a good run in the NASCAR Camping World East Series race at the Thompson, Ct. Speedway on Saturday night. It was the first time he had seen the track and with less than 20 laps of practice, he qualified 10th. He stayed in the top-10 all night and with 2 laps remaining, he had moved into 5th place but a caution flag and the restart dropped him back to 6th.
After the race Jody said, “We had a pretty good car tonight. It was still tight but we were able to run up front. We cut a tire in practice which hurt us. If we had more practice I think we could have made the car better, but the competition in the division is so competitive we have to be 100% every race. We don’t have the resources some of the drivers have but this JBR team will continue to work hard.” Three of the cars ahead of Jody were DEI cars and one from Joe Gibbs racing. Jody also moved up to 9th place in the points standings after missing one race.
The next race in the NASCAR Camping World Series division is in Nashville, Tenn. on Saturday, July 19th. The race will be on live tv on the HDNET channel at 7:30 pm.
